Carrier Command has been given a brand-new second form by a Czech company, becoming a remake of the cult Carrier Command released back in 1988. Back then it was a game that combined strategy and simulation and became wildly popular with players. The new developer, Czech studio Geometa, promised that the core idea of the project would stay the same, with only more spectacle and modern technology added on top.
At its heart, this is a survive-at-any-cost story about an aircraft carrier: huge, massive and futuristic, able to command a large number of aircraft and landing troops. The backstory is that on the island where the fighting takes place, as across the whole planet, a bloody war has long been raging between the Asian Pacific Army and the Coalition for the unification of Earth's people. The constant fighting has drained the Earth's resources, the Asians have the upper hand, and your last chance is to capture Taurus, an oceanic satellite capable of supplying most of the Earth with water, which has almost run out. You play the main character, Lieutenant Mirik, who lands deep in enemy territory and looks for a way to take control of a giant carrier there. You pull off the plan and seize all that firepower for yourself, and now all that's left is to hold your ground and destroy the enemy.
To help you out, you get hints, a tactical map, a complete layout of the island and combat weaponry. To reach your goal, you'll need to become an excellent strategist and not shy away from adventure and sharp plot twists. You'll carry out research, command people, work out military tactics and take part in armed conflicts.
Like the original, the game is made in a retro style and belongs to the same genre: a strategic simulator and survival game. The developers included a single-player mode, and you can also play as a pair, in a team or against each other.
The game is already widely available in online stores and on the official platform. You can support the developer by buying it, or download Carrier Command 2 for free right here.
