That is why Bandai Namco boldly announced a new game called Code Vein, which combines the grim style of Dark Souls with a world steeped in Japanese legends and fantasy. The story takes place in a world inhabited by horrible monsters and so-called revenants. These are not formless creatures, though, but vampires who have to drink blood to keep from turning into monsters. Now a group of brave heroes sets out to learn why they are forced to live by these rules and what can be done to free vampires from the curse. That will not be easy, because the demons never sleep and will do everything in their power to strengthen the curse, which would certainly hurt the vampires. Still, the vampires are no pushovers either: they wield versatile weapons and martial arts skills.
The new game from Bandai Namco has a gothic look and is sure to please fans of tough challenges. The key is to make good use of every option available and help the main characters succeed. Right now the game is only 38% complete, so there is still plenty of work ahead. It has modern graphics and an appealing art style, and it is set to come out in 2018.
