Demons Timeline is a mystic detective game where every investigation takes place inside timelines, news feeds and online messages. You play as the cyber-detective "L," trying to get to the bottom of a series of strange murders and supernatural incidents without ever leaving your room. Instead of dusting for fingerprints and walking the streets, you dig through other people's posts, compare accounts and piece together what happened from their digital footprints.
It's All About Reading People Closely
Almost the entire investigation rests on information the characters post online themselves. Someone slips up in the comments, someone runs a secret account, and someone else deletes important data hoping to cover their tracks. You have to link profiles together by hand, analyze messages and search for the details that reveal who is really behind the latest "Paradox."
Your demon partner Nyasuteria Hakouchi helps out during investigations with her own abilities, but the game still never hands you ready-made answers. You have to put together the final conclusions yourself using the hashtags, quotes and recovered data you find. Because of this, the game feels less like a typical visual novel and more like a full-fledged digital investigation, where almost any small detail in the feed can suddenly turn into a key piece of evidence.
