Enigma of Fear is a paranormal detective game from Brazilian studio Dumativa, made together with streamer Cellbit and set in his Ordem Paranormal universe. It launched on November 28, 2024 and pairs pixel-art characters with 3D locations and dynamic lighting.
Mia, Lupi and a Missing Father
Young detective Mia is searching for her father. He was one of the best agents of Ordo Realitas, an organization that investigates paranormal cases, until he vanished without a trace. His trail leads to the Perimeter, a place that supposedly doesn't exist. Other agents of the order have gone missing there too, and the Cult of Fear is behind it all. Mia is accompanied by her dog Lupi, and he isn't just there to look cute: after dangerous run-ins with the otherworldly, he helps her pull herself together and regain her sanity.
Clues and the Mind Map
Your main tool here is deduction. The Perimeter is open to explore, and you decide where to go next, so the game plays out nonlinearly. There are dozens of clues: documents, pieces of evidence, puzzles and devices. Everything you find goes onto Mia's mind map, where facts are checked and linked together. If you get stuck, you can contact your partners: the hacker Samuel and the occultist Agatha will give you a hint or remind you of key details.
Fight or Hide
The Perimeter also holds paranormal creatures and bosses, and here the choice is yours: fight them or slip past unnoticed. The music adapts to what is happening on screen. The game was well received, with more than 95% positive reviews out of several thousand on Steam and a score of 85 on Metacritic. You will need 8 GB of memory and 25 GB of disk space, and you can download Enigma of Fear for free on PC right here.
