Fans of the legendary Far Cry shooter series have already been through all sorts of adventures in all kinds of settings. This time, though, Ubisoft has prepared something truly grand: the primitive world! A world where people have yet to learn how to make fire but already have to fight with everything they have to fend off wild animals and survive. A world where mammoths and sabertooth tigers ruled over all living things. A world that existed on Earth some 12,000 years ago... It is called Oros, and you will find it in a game that was scheduled for release in February 2016 on Xbox One and PS4, with the PC version following in March.
The hero is Takkar, the only surviving hunter in the land of Oros. Or is he? At first it seems that way, but later you will meet other people who also have useful skills and can even teach Takkar a thing or two. Besides them, you will run into savages whose hunting method could not be simpler: charge in headfirst with a spear! And they charge not only at animals but also at people who are civilized (by the standards of the time). All in all, Oros has more than enough problems, especially with those mammoths and sabertooth tigers that see humans as easy prey.
Takkar has to protect himself and the rest of his people from wild beasts and wild tribes. Human civilization in Oros is only beginning to develop, so survival means crafting tools and weapons from whatever you can find, mostly animal bones, making fire and hunting to feed yourself and those in your care. Takkar's goal is not just basic survival, though; it is far bigger: to conquer all of Oros! Naturally, that will take enormous effort. And always remember that a fresh kill is very likely to draw predators, so stay on your guard!
Besides the main campaign (we almost forgot to mention that Far Cry Primal is focused on single-player), the developers prepared a small add-on called The Legend Of The Mammoth, made up of three exclusive missions. It went to everyone who pre-ordered the new entry in the legendary Far Cry series. You can download Far Cry Primal for free and head back to the Stone Age.
