This is not just a fighting game, it is the best fighting game of 2013 according to the gaming magazine Igromania! The heroes of Injustice: Gods Among Us come from a range of DC Comics franchises. Thanks to this game you can learn that Batman is stronger than Superman, as long as the player controlling him knows the moves better than the computer or a real opponent.
In terms of gameplay, Injustice: Gods Among Us is reminiscent of the Mortal Kombat series. That is no surprise, since it was developed by NetherRealm. Fighters can only move forward and back, but both the backgrounds and the characters themselves are 3D, with graphics built on Unreal Engine 3. The backdrops include such iconic places as the Batcave, Superman's fortress and the streets of Metropolis.
The story is intriguing too. As so often happens, the Joker is the mastermind behind the schemes. He tricked Superman into killing his beloved Lois Lane and their unborn child. The supervillain then detonated a nuclear bomb in Metropolis, killing millions of people. After that, Superman lost his mind and became a dictator and tyrant, with Batman leading the opposition. During the battles, a portal is found to a parallel Metropolis where the nuclear blast has not yet happened... You can find out the rest if you download Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition for free. This edition includes all the DLC.
The gameplay is simple and dynamic: you use just 4 buttons, but they open up a sea of possibilities. Fights last a single round, but each fighter has 2 health bars.
There are plenty of characters and plenty of maps. The game has around 40 heroes, and they fight on various streets of Metropolis, in the Batcave, the Fortress of Solitude and other iconic locations from DC comics.
Just like in the latest Mortal Kombat games, there is a meter that lets you pull off spectacular, flashy attacks. And of course, every hero has their own super move.
