Dark virtual worlds have a pull all their own, drawing players in with their bleak mood and unpredictable endings. These are the games that deliver gripping adventures unlike anything else, and they tend to spark the biggest discussions. If you know the work of the company called Playdead, you will immediately understand what we mean. This is the studio that gave us the fascinating world of Limbo. In it, players stepped into the shoes of a little boy and set off on an extraordinary journey through about the gloomiest setting imaginable. It was a long adventure in which you had to find the boy's sister and try not to die in a hostile, deeply cruel world. Did he manage it? Most likely, yes, and now it's time for a new adventure that promises to be just as dark and unpredictable.
This time the studio is presenting a game called Inside, which once again pulls you into a grim world. Rather than being drenched in dark shades, it goes for a muted, washed-out look that stirs up equally uneasy feelings. Once more you take on the role of a small boy who heads out into a dangerous world full of eerie calm and unpredictability. This time you explore a world steeped in totalitarianism, human experiments and other disturbing things. The thing is, the hero has to do something unusual and heroic, something that could change the world, but what exactly that will be is still unknown, because the developers are keeping it under wraps.
Inside is another indie platformer that will test your skills, your readiness for a new story and the constant unpredictable events ready to destroy your enemy. The game will be full of different puzzles, it can find its way into every player's heart and it lets you discover new adventures that can sometimes be genuinely frightening. You can download Inside for free and see for yourself what Playdead has in store.
