Legionbound is an auto-battler built on an RPG foundation. You don't control the attacks directly; instead you assemble a team that can survive a flood of enemies on its own. Victory isn't about clicking. It comes down to who you picked, where you placed them and how everything works together. Make the wrong choice, and even a huge crowd won't save you.
Less a Team, More a Marching Army
You aren't putting together a "balanced lineup". You are building an entire legion that either runs like a single well-oiled machine or falls apart before your eyes. Some heroes hold the line, others deal damage, and others buff everyone else, and if even one piece drops out, the whole structure starts to sag. You have to keep reworking your roster and adapting to whatever is happening in battle.
The modes set different paces: in one you simply have to hold out as long as possible, while in another you push forward, growing your squad and choosing your route. Through it all, the final threat never goes away. It only gets stronger, and sooner or later you will have to face it. That is the moment you find out just how well you built your army.
