Postal 2 is a game layered with an outrageous amount of black humor. It came out back in 2003 and is still not forgotten, and how could it be? It was developed by Running With Scissors Inc. Notably, according to the story, the main character, simply called the Dude, comes to the town of Paradise, where the action unfolds, to work at that very company as an artist. But things go wrong from day one, which is, of course, a Monday... You control the Dude's life for exactly one week.
Although many people see Postal 2 as a true symbol of violence, the main character can also complete his missions entirely peacefully. You do not have to react to provocations or grab a weapon, or anything that can be used as one. The tagline says the game is only as violent as you want it to be. Still, it is hard to find anyone who has played Postal 2 and finished it quietly, calmly and peacefully, without unzipping the Dude's pants to relieve himself in public. And even that is one of the mildest things you can do.
Postal 2 features:
- In its day, the game's graphics were considered superb, and they still look pretty decent today.
- This action game became famous for its violence, but the level of brutality is entirely up to you.
- Life in Paradise goes on independently of the Dude. There are so many different faces here: religious fanatics, terrorists, SWAT officers, anti-video-game activists...
- Simple everyday chores, like buying milk or returning a book to the library, turn into something horrific.
