Building Your Hero
Your choice of hero lays the groundwork for the run ahead, but it doesn't lock you into one predetermined path. Each of the four classes has its own traits: the mage commands the elements, the holy warrior fights with two blades, the archer attacks from range, and the necromancer summons demons and skeletons. Twelve talent trees and hundreds of skills let you gradually shift your specialization, combine abilities and create unusual character builds.
Hunting for gear is a whole part of the adventure in its own right. The game has more than a hundred million items, and legendary and mythic pieces are the most prized of all. Weapons can be paired with skills and enhancements to produce wildly different builds. Some sets suit head-on fights, while others let you bet on ranged combat, summoning creatures or a mix of several approaches.
