Looking for something incredible? Something on a massive scale? Then No Man's Sky is exactly what you need. It is a science fiction project from the British studio Hello Games, best known for its Joe Danger series about a goofy stuntman. No Man's Sky, though, is something else entirely. Something loftier, you might say.
And that is exactly right, both literally and figuratively. The game world is procedurally generated, and it is not just a single country, planet or even star system. It is an entire universe! Every celestial body is unique and one of a kind. Every planet has its own ecosystem, and the life forms are astonishing. How do you feel about carnivorous worms the size of a high-rise, for example?
Who Do You Play As?
You take on the role of a scout and traveler. You have your own ship, and you need to take good care of it, because if it gets destroyed you will be left drifting who knows where in space inside an escape pod. And it can definitely be destroyed, since the inhabitants of space are free to fight one another. By the way, it is still unclear whether there will be multiplayer, although there are rumors about it. No Man's Sky itself is expected to come out in 2015, most likely on PS4 first and then on PC.
Is There Anything Else?
Of course, this is a whole universe of interesting things! It all begins on a planet that looks a lot like our own home world but sits somewhere unknown. At first you will have no ship and will need to get one. After that come missions where you discover new planets, chase down space bandits and take part in military operations. The story is still shrouded in mystery, but it is already intriguing. We should also add that the developers built their own engine, so the graphics in No Man's Sky are completely unique. Oh, and at the Game Critics Awards 2014, the project was named the most innovative game.
Key Features

- You will experience firsthand the joy of Cook, Columbus and other great explorers. Only instead of islands and continents, you will be discovering entire planets. Those planets can make you rich or bring you a world of trouble...
- Everything begins on a planet that resembles Earth, yet it is still different. Explore it and see for yourself. On top of that, every player gets their own generated world, so nothing ever repeats!
